Susan Sarandon’s son has slammed people who criticised his mum’s revealing cleavage at an awards ceremony.
Film director Jack Robbins blasted detractors, including TV presenter Piers Morgan, as “ageist and sexist”.
He said his Oscar-winning mum was “right to be proud of her body” after she wore a bra top –and no shirt – at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA. Jack, 26, said: “If she wasn’t 69 no one would be saying anything.
“It’s ageist and sexist to attack her. She’s a beautiful woman.
“If Piers Morgan wants to make fun of my mother and focus his energy on that, then power to him. Aren’t there a million other things he could be preoccupied with than my mum’s breasts?”
Jack described the Thelma & Louise star as “the best mum”, saying that he’s constantly proud of her.
Susan was at the ceremony to present an In Memoriam tribute to stars including the late David Bowie and Alan Rickman. She was also nominated for an award for The Secret Life Of Marilyn Monroe.
Good Morning Britain’s Morgan made his feelings about her outfit known, tweeting: “Very tacky, Ms Sarandon. Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute.”
