Son to follow mate Brooklyn to the US
Madonna is set to be reunited with estranged son Rocco, who plans to move from Britain to the US to study.
Rocco, 17, wants to follow best pal Brooklyn Beckham, 18, who has enrolled to study photography at Parsons School of Design in New York, where Madonna, 59, is mainly based.
He would spend at least half the year with his mum, who lost custody of him last year after a nine-month legal battle with his dad, British film director Guy Ritchie, 48.
A friend said that since then Rocco has become “very close” to Ritchie’s wife Jacqui and “Madonna is hugely jealous of that relationship”.
But pals said mum-of-six Madonna has slowly been building trust again with Rocco, who fell out with her and walked out on her world tour in December 2015.
Rocco’s plan to travel back to New York has been prompted by the Beckhams’ eldest son Brooklyn’s move to the Big Apple.
A friend said: “Brooklyn is like a surrogate elder brother Rocco looks up to.
“Rocco wants to study art and film. He also wants to do photography and he and Brooklyn will be doing projects together.
“Madonna is desperate to have Rocco home to be part of her and the other children’s lives. “She has tried really hard to be as cool as Guy’s wife Jacqui is about everything because that’s what Rocco really needs.”
David Beckham and Ritchie are close friends and their sons have been regularly spotted together in west London. Brooklyn enrolled at Parsons this week, admitting he was nervous at moving away from his parents.
