Heartbroken David Walliams is trying to win back his model wife by sending her funny letters.
A source close to the Little Britain star revealed he has written her playful notes every day since they split. David, 43, is said to be hoping his jokey anecdotes will bring Dutch beauty Lara Stone laughing back into his arms. He has also asked the 31-yearold if he could whisk her off on a romantic holiday to her favourite hotel – the Splendido in Portofino, Italy.
England football star Wayne Rooney, 29, married Coleen, 28, at the swanky venue. Last week it was revealed the pair had split after fi ve years of marriage. The source said David has vowed to cut down on his work schedule if Lara gives him another chance, adding: “He has sent out lots of suggestions – but all couched in humour so Lara doesn’t feel pressured or guilty. “David adores her and will go to the ends of the earth to get her back and make her happy.”
Meanwhile, Walliams is watching funny films to cheer himself up. He has spent hours on Mel Brooks classics such as Blazing Saddles, Life Stinks and Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
David tweeted: “I grew up on @MelBrooks movies. Watching them all again.” A spokesman for Walliams said last night: “We do not comment on David’s private life.”
